Behaviour Wellbeing

NDIS Specialist Behaviour

Behaviour Wellbeing

Behaviour Wellbeing was founded in 2022. We are a small team who work collaboratively for all the participants who we support. It is the vision of our director to improve the communication between participants and the supports around them. Our aim is building rapport, engaging in appropriate strategies and skill building to improve positive life outcomes and enhanced relationships and connection.

Our Participants

Our participants are individuals who are loved, they are sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, aunties, uncles, and grandparents. We aim to support our participants to be seen by the people that care for them most. We truly see our participants and their families.

What We Do

We create individualised strategies for people with disability that are responsive to the person’s needs, in a way that reduces and eliminates the need for the use of regulated restrictive practices.

Behaviour communicates an unmet need

"Beneath every behaviour there is a feeling. And beneath every feeling is a need. And when we meet that need rather than focus on the behaviour, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom."

Testimonials

[The Behaviour] Support has been respectful of the participants rights and boundaries. . . . A lot of the success is around the work they have done with all the stakeholders. She always makes herself available to others and has attended team meetings as needed. She has helped me understand things I didn’t understand.

Testimonial 1

We meet with Alisa and she is always really great at listening. . . One of the things she is really good at is getting information from the other providers and working with them to get a big picture and wholistic picture of the Participant.

Testimonial 2

She has been helpful a lot. She answers my questions if I have them. It is easy to get in touch with her if I need to.

Testimonial 3

The Practitioner did take time to understand the participant, and their behaviours and needs. . . We are seeing positive changes with behaviours. Both the assessment and recommended strategies have been respectful of the Participant, and their rights.

Testimonial 4

It was clear from the start what the Practitioner could help with. They took time to understand the participant, their likes, challenges, needs and goals. She also took time to involve me and other workers.

Testimonial 5

They definitely take feedback on board. The Participant may turn around and say ‘Oh I don’t like that’. We feed that back, and she makes the changes as needed.
